Action plan and closing gaps
How to turn detected gaps into concrete actions with owners, deadlines and tracking.
Creating an action plan
For each gap you can create a corrective action directly from the list. Every action includes:
- Title — a brief description of the action
- Owner — assigned user or team
- Deadline — the date by which to complete the action
- Priority — inherited from the gap’s risk level, editable
The actions you create flow automatically into the Tasks section and the Deadlines Calendar.
Tracking progress
From the Gap Analysis dashboard you can monitor:
- Number of gaps opened vs closed in the month
- Trend of the compliance score over time
- Gaps due in the next 7 days
Closing a gap
When a corrective action is completed, mark the gap as Closed, attaching any supporting documentation. Privacta records the closure in the audit trail with date and user.
The documented closure of a gap is evidence of accountability: in the event of an inspection it shows that the organization detected the non-compliance and acted to resolve it.
